Indications and clinical use : 

-Acute and chronic keratitis and conjunctivitis of an infections nature, with severe swelling and increased vascular injection. 
-Inflammation of the anterior uvea (iritis, iridocyclitis). 
-Scleritis, episcleritis and myositis.  
-Sympathetic ophthalmia.  
-Chloramphenicol is indicated if the infective agent is resistant to other antibiotics.
